My stay in Europe got longer and I noticed some difference between Japanese and European.
Generally speaking, European’s fashion is simple and casual, while Japanese fashion is complicating and decorative.
I think this difference comes from body traits.
No matter how hard we deny, Europeans’ body traits (= white people’s physical traits) are idealised, at least in Japan.
Europeans’ body is considered “superior”, so that they don’t have to decorate it with some external elements, which is fashion. Rather, fashion or outfits should serve them to enhance their body charms.
On the other hands, since Japanese does not have such a body, they need to add external elements to increase their charm. So that, their fashion tends to be fancy and decorative.
It seems to me Europeans’ fashion focuses on “how to reveal their flesh”, while Japanese fashion focuses on “how to hide their flesh”.
